Program Details:

Engineering Better Outcomes: Shockwave, PRP, and the New Regenerative Standard

CuraMedix and RMTI have teamed up to offer a one-day program intended for clinicians who want to incorporate Shockwave therapy and EMTT into their orthobiologics practice. These complementary therapies are expanding treatment options in orthopedic and sports medicine.
This unique program demonstrates how clinicians can use non-invasive, evidence-based tools to support healing and improve patient outcomes. It features expert-led presentations, hands-on shockwave training, and a multi-station cadaver lab focused on practical techniques and real-world application.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the clinical rationale for integrating Shockwave therapy and EMTT as complementary, evidence-based modalities that enhance the biological activity of PRP, Bone Marrow Aspirate (BMA), and Adipose-derived orthobiologics.

  • Analyze the biological mechanisms of action for PRP (growth factor signaling), Bone Marrow (nucleated cell populations), and Micronized Fat (structural scaffolding and perivascular signaling) in the context of tissue repair.

  • Identify appropriate patient indications in orthopedic settings where the synergy of Shockwave, EMTT, and specific biologics (PRP vs. BMA vs. Fat) is most likely to optimize outcomes for tendinopathy, osteoarthritis, and structural defects.

  • Evaluate treatment pathways that align non-invasive mechanical and magnetic technologies with biologic interventions to prime the host environment and enhance cellular recruitment.

  • Apply evidence-informed clinical decision-making to select the appropriate orthobiologic medium (blood, bone marrow, or fat) based on chronicity, tissue type, and patient comorbidities.

Technique Objectives:

By the end of the hands-on training and lab sessions, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate proper Shockwave technique, including positioning, coupling, targeting, and parameter selection for common orthopedic and sports medicine indications.

  • Perform ultrasound-guided and palpation-guided treatment approaches to improve precision in targeting tissue structures commonly treated with Shockwave and biologics.

  • Apply injection-adjacent anatomical knowledge from cadaver-based training to improve accuracy and safety when integrating PRP protocols into treatment workflows.

  • Execute clinical sequencing strategies, selecting the optimal protocols for combining Shockwave and EMTT with PRP, BMA, and MFAT to maximize the symbiotic effect.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in processing protocols for PRP, BMA, and MFAT, ensuring high-quality graft preparation for integration with device-based therapies.

Target Audiences:

Physicians and staff of appropriate disciplines, including Orthopedics, Pain Management, Sports Medicine, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Course Requirements:

This Shockwave and PRP biologics medicine program is designed for clinicians and medical staff seeking to integrate Shockwave and EMTT into their biologics practice, as well as those aiming to advance their skills and deepen their knowledge in this field. PRP injection skills are required.
